I recently found a box of pictures from GVFX's many projects and almost as many parties. Many of the people in the pictures have probably never seen them, so I scanned a bunch and tried to put up one or two pictures of everyone.
There were some good days, and some good old fashioned disagreements. But for many people for some of the time these were the good old days.
If I missed your picture it's only because decades later I can't find it. Send me one if you can and I'll put it up. If I missed or incorrectly spelled your name, it's because decades later......
I started my career in Toronto in a time of hand drawn animation, model shops and motion controls. GVFX was the first Artist driven company in Canada and we made a big push into digital technology. In the day we won more VFX awards in Canada than everyone else combined, due to the strength of the teams and XXX
MGM and Atlantis brought me to Vancouver for The Outer Limits, and I stayed for Stargate SGI and Atlantis. To handle more projects we opened our office in 1998.
It was haunted.
These guys got their own section because they took so many damn pictures. Glad they did.
